Year 12
Future-Focused Learning.
Year 12 at SEDA College NT is the final stage of senior secondary education, where students bring together their learning, skills, and experiences to prepare for life beyond school. Building on the foundations established in Years 10 and 11, students strengthen their confidence, independence, and career readiness while completing their Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET).
Through real-world learning, industry engagement, work experience, and applied projects, students gain valuable insight into future pathways and develop the skills needed to transition successfully into university, further training, apprenticeships, or employment.
What You Will See
Our unique structure ensures that each class has a dedicated teacher, fostering deep connections, trust, and a personalised learning experience. This model allows educators to connect with students and understand their strengths, weaknesses and goals, ultimately enhancing learning and wellbeing outcomes.
Students learn through a balanced weekly structure:
- Classroom-based NTCET & VET learning sessions
- Two days of work experience
- Time dedicated to VET and skill development outside the classroom
This structure builds routine, independence and workplace readiness.
Learning takes place in a range of environments including sporting facilities, community settings, and industry workplaces. Students apply their learning in real contexts, building adaptability and confidence.
Each student develops a personalised plan through the College's MyPLAN system to track goals, experiences, and progress. Regular check-ins support reflection, growth, and ownership of their learning pathway.
Students are supported by both their teacher and a dedicated support team, ensuring academic, wellbeing, and engagement needs are met throughout the year.
What Students Experience
Students work alongside sporting organisations and our industry partners across the Territory. They gain exposure to professional environments through event support, coaching and work experience opportunities, and hands-on involvement in real industry settings.
Students complete structured work experience two days per week, allowing them to explore career pathways, develop workplace skills, and build industry connections.
Students participate in camps, competitions, and leadership programs that build resilience, connection, and personal growth.
Students develop industry skills through coaching and officiating courses, First Aid Training, and VET qualifications linked to Sport and Recreation.
What Curriculum is Delivered
Integrated Learning (Careers)
Integrated Learning is a framework designed to help students connect various aspects of their lives with their personal development and abilities. The College creates Integrated Learning programs tailored to specific purposes, products, and outcomes that align with students' needs and interests.
Additional NTCET Subjects
Additional NTCET subjects are offered to students who need extra credits to attain their Year 12 certificate. This typically applies to students who did not start at the College at the beginning of Year 10.
Duke of Edinburgh - Bronze
Students will undertake their Bronze level Duke of Edinburgh Award. This award is internationally recognised and focuses on developing important life skills. Throughout their journey to achieve the award, students will focus on four areas; Voluntary Service, Physical Recreation, Skill and Adventurous Journey. For those who have already completed the Bronze Award, the College will support you to achieve the Silver Award.

The Outcome
By the end of Year 12, students graduate as confident, capable, and independent young adults prepared for life beyond school.
Our goal is for every student to leave SEDA College with the skills, qualifications, real-world experience, and clear pathway needed to succeed in further study, training, employment, and their wider community.
